PLG Welcomes TACS Apprentice

Always on the search for new talent, PLG has welcomed our new manufacturing apprentice!

Luke Elstob was recruited by TACS (Training Assessment & Consultancy Service), an organisation supporting manufacturing apprenticeships in County Durham. Key training areas for Luke will include working with state of the art CNC machines,  straight-line edge polishing machines, forvet water jet machine use, glass laminating process, cutting table, toughening furnace, and how to read and understand technical drawings, along with much more!

Lee Fleetham, our Director of Operations, has said:

”The future is bright. We are extremely proud of our Manufacturing Apprentice, Luke Elstob, who is going from strength to strength since joining the business. He can be seen here running one of our specialised CNC vertical glass cutting machines”.

The apprentice will acquire a Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Operative Qualification and could even join our team permanently on successful completion of their apprenticeship.
